INTJ stands for introversion, intuition, thinking, judging, and is used to refer to one of the 16 personality types from the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Perfectionists, infinitely curious, private, rational, and skeptical are some adjectives that are commonly used to describe INTJs. 16 personalities wrote an accurate description of INTJs:
The INTJ personality type is one of the rarest and most interesting types – comprising only about 2% of the U.S. population (INTJ females are especially rare – just 0.8%), INTJs are often seen as highly intelligent and perplexingly mysterious. INTJ personalities radiate self-confidence, relying on their huge archive of knowledge spanning many different topics and areas. INTJs usually begin to develop that knowledge in early childhood (the “bookworm” nickname is quite common among INTJs) and keep on doing that later on in life.
Thanks to all the INTJs from Reddit, Facebook, Tumblr, Personality cafe, and Twitter that contributed to this list! More INTJ quotes including all the ones below can be found here.
I also believe that introversion is my greatest strength. I have such a strong inner life that I’m never bored and only occasionally lonely. No matter what mayhem is happening around me, I know I can always turn inward.
A common quality I see of people who are successful is that they are voracious readers.
The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. To be your own man is a hard business. If you try it, you’ll be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.
I read a book one day and my whole life was changed.
It’s always better to leave the party early.
The third-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the majority. The second-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the minority. The first-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking.

Believe you can and you’re halfway there.
That which does not kill us makes us stronger.
Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress.
Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody expects of you. Never excuse yourself.
It’s easier to go down a hill than up it but the view is much better at the top.
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.
Isn’t it fascinating how something as small and portable as a book can revolutionize our lives? In a world that is increasingly drawn to 140 characters and tl;dr snippets of everything, sometimes we avid readers need to be reminded of why we read. Non-readers often think that we’re missing out on life, but the reality is, because we read, we live a thousand lives.
What an astonishing thing a book is. It’s a flat object made from a tree, with flexible parts on which are imprinted lots of funny, dark squiggles. But one glance at it, and you’re inside the mind of another person, maybe somebody dead for thousands of years. Across the millennia, an author is speaking clearly and silently inside your head, directly to you. Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other, citizens of distant epochs. Books break the shackles of time. A book is proof that humans are capable of working magic.
I often carry things to read so that I will not have to look at the people.
I think we ought to read only the kind of books that wound and stab us. If the book we are reading doesn’t wake us up with a blow on the head, what are we reading it for? …we need the books that affect us like a disaster, that grieve us deeply, like the death of someone we loved more than ourselves, like being banished into forests far from everyone, like a suicide. A book must be the axe for the frozen sea inside us.
If you go home with somebody, and they don’t have books, don’t fuck ‘em!
A book is really like a lover. It arranges itself in your life in a way that is beautiful.
There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them.
The philosophy of existentialism has made a profound impact upon the team here at Quotesome. It dates back to the first time Michelle read The Stranger by Albert Camus and began to explore existentialism, absurdism, and nihilism. She had a lot of sleepless nights and would stay up until sunrise jotting down eye-opening quotes from her readings. The eventual flood of quotes she had gathered were what inspired the idea of Quotesome.
Through existentialism we learned to take full control of our lives. Through existentialism we learned that there is no formula for life– you can choose to live your life however you wish and it wont render your life any more or less valid than anybody else’s. Through existentialism we found the courage to ditch the lives that were expected of us (graduate from college and get a respectable job) to work on Quotesome. As a token of appreciation, we’ve put together a list of quotes about Existentialism. We encourage you to bookmark this page and refer to it whenever you feel like you are straying away from yourself, or simply to replenish yourself with vigor for life.
Not all the quotes deal with existentialism from an immediate philosophical standpoint. In fact, most of the quotes capture the “feeling” of existentialism that arise from the stages of an existential crisis. There is no point in trying to label existentialism as a “bleak” or “positive” philosophy– in the spirit of existentialism, it is up to the individual to decide whether they wish to persist in despair or emerge from it.
Many thanks to the Reddit, Facebook, and Tumblr existentialists for recommendation!
You are free and that is why you are lost.
Do you ever think of yourself as actually dead, lying in a box with a lid on it?
This is your life and it’s ending one moment at a time.
As if the blind rage had washed me clean, rid me of hope; for the first time, in that night alive with signs and stars, I opened myself to the gentle indifference of the world.
You are the music while the music lasts.
To assert that the universe has a purpose implies the universe has intent. And intent implies a desired outcome. But who would do the desiring? And what would a desired outcome be? That carbon-based life is inevitable? Or that sentient primates are life’s neurological pinnacle? Are answers to these questions even possible without expressing a profound bias of human sentiment? Of course humans were not around to ask these questions for 99.9999% of cosmic history. So if the purpose of the universe was to create humans then the cosmos was embarrassingly inefficient about it.
INTP stands for introversion, intuition, thinking, perception, and is used to refer to one of the 16 personality types from the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). INTPs are often (accurately) stereotyped as the “oddly developed typed” and the absent-minded professors. 16 personalities wrote an accurate description of INTPs:
“…this never-ending thinking process also makes them look somewhat pensive and detached, as INTPs are perfectly able to conduct full-fledged debates in their own heads… People with this personality type may also find it quite difficult to explain their thoughts to others… Even when an INTP is arguing with someone, this should be taken with a grain of salt – they might as well be arguing with their own mind.”
Thank you so much to all the INTPs who recommended quotes. We’ve included notable INTPs such as Albert Einstein and Sergey Brin (co-founder of Google). Now go ahead and enjoy this collection of quotes (that is, if you manage to get to the end without getting sidetracked by something). You now have 100 more reasons to be proud of being an INTP!
Some people never go crazy, What truly horrible lives they must live.
Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.
Did you ever stop to think, and forget to start again?
My mind rebels at stagnation. Give me problems, give me work, give me the most abstruse cryptogram, or the most intricate analysis, and I am in my own proper atmosphere. But I abhor the dull routine of existence. I crave for mental exaltation.
People interest me, conversations don’t.
Happy 4th of July! We hope you are enjoying all the food and festivities. Here at the Quotesome team, we’ve put together a selection of quotes about freedom and America. You don’t need to love all the people who are quoted to acknowledge the messages they deliver. Also… We’re not actually American, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate with you too!
The best road to progress is freedom’s road.
If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.
INFP stands for introversion, intuition, feeling, perception, and is used to refer to one of the 16 personality types from the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). 16 personalities wrote a great description about INFPs:
INFP personalities are usually perceived as calm, reserved or even shy. However, such an exterior can be deceptive – even though INFPs can be somewhat cautious, their inner flame and passion is not something to be taken lightly. People with this personality type are really affectionate, a trait not often seen in other types… Unfortunately, it also means that INFPs can often feel misunderstood and isolated, as they are relatively rare (only 4.3% of U.S. population).
If you’re an INFP, you may occasionally feel misunderstood, alone, isolated, and marginalized. That’s why we put together a long list of relatable quotes for you– many of which are by other great INFPs!
People understand me so poorly that they don’t even understand my complaint about them not understanding me.
In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.
I’m tired of feeling like I’m fucking crazy.
I came to terms with not fitting in a long time ago. I never really fitted in. I don’t want to fit in. And now people are buying into that.
As we watched the Empire State Building light up in rainbow colors last night, we (the Quotesome team) were inspired to put together some of our favorite quotations for pride week. We hope you find these quotations inspiring too! If you have any suggestions, feel free to post a quote in the comments below. Happy celebrating!
Never be bullied into silence.
Openness may not completely disarm prejudice, but it’s a good place to start.
Understand that sexuality is as wide as the sea. Understand that your morality is not law. Understand that we are you. Understand that if we decide to have sex whether safe, safer, or unsafe, it is our decision and you have no rights in our lovemaking.
Marriage should be between a spouse and a spouse, not a gender and a gender.
Hello my friends!
It’s been a while. I’ve missed blogging. Michelle and I just moved into a new place in New York City. This is my first time here and I’m really loving it. There is so much food! I heard that New Yorkers are supposed to be mean, but the people I’ve met are very friendly to me. They give me hugs and pet my head and shell.
Because it’s my first time in New York, Michelle is going to take me sightseeing later today. We are going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Now I must get back to work and respond to emails. The wifi is still being set up, so we’re working on Quotesome in random coffee shops. Hope you guys have an amazing weekend!
Hugs from New York,
P.S. The picture above is me getting ready for a swim in Central Park
